4 Colorful and Editable Homeschool Lesson Plan Templates

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

If you’re looking for an editable homeschool lesson plan template for your homeschool planner, you’ll love the ones I have for you today.

I have four colorful and editable homeschool lesson plan templates.

Planning can be stressful and if you have a guideline or framework to follow, it gives you a direction.

4 Colorful and Editable Homeschool Lesson Plan Templates

And if you prefer to plan by paper and pen but not write the same subjects over, templates have a huge time savings advantage.

In addition, you also can save printing cost when you print exactly what you need by having a two page spread.

5 Advantages to a Homeschool Lesson Plan Template

First, look at these advantages to an editable homeschool lesson plan template.

  1. Planning is very flexible because your subjects can change from week to week. Adjust your templates through the year as needed.
  2. Long range planning is easier because you can type in topics for each quarter or semester and add to your planner.
  3. By having your lesson plan template separate you can submit your lesson plans to a shared file with your children. Use the templates as a checklist if you’re training your children for independence.
  4. Each child can be assigned their own two page spread if you use more than one color.
  5. Or use one two page spread to see all of your learners on one page. You decide the layout.

Also, some moms prefer to set up their template for the year and then laminate it.

4 Colorful and Editable Homeschool Lesson Plan Templates

In addition, not all lesson planning templates have the same editable fields.

So be sure you’re looking at which boxes can be edited.

Homeschool Lesson Plan Template

Also, you decide if you want to use regular paper or cardstock.

Personally, I prefer to use regular paper especially if I’m going to prepare my whole homeschool planner.

You do not want to print for a year using cardstock. Your planner would be way too thick and unusable.

If I am printing for a glance for the year for my kids, I would print two pages on cardstock.

Too, you don’t really need an expensive printer. I’ve always a mobile or smaller version of Canon.

4 Colorful and Editable Homeschool Lesson Plan Templates

Next, look at these five lesson planning templates.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

I have three free high school planner cover designs for your teens. Whether your teen is building his own homeschool planner, diy student planner or just wants checklists, you’ll love these choices. Check out my how to homeschool high school page for awesome tips.

These brand new homeschool high school planner covers come in three different color choices.

And if your teen is building his or her own planner, these covers would be the first step to build their planner.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

In addition, I have 12 free homeschool high school planner covers on the DIY Best Student Planner pages for more choices..

Too, these mew homeschool student cover pages are full color like most all of my planner pages.

Plus, when your teens have their own planner it encourages them to learn how to manage time.

How to Use the High School Planner Covers

For example, when you don’t buy a full put together student planner, your teen has choices for each section.

Individualizing a planner is not only something we love to do, but our teen too.

Some teens prefer to only include lesson planning pages.

Other teens include time management sections and tips, goals, or even journal pages.

By planning and printing exactly the pages you want your teen will be more motivated to use it.

Also, printing these high school planner covers do not really require any special printer.

I have used the Canon PIXMA TR150 Wireless Mobile Printer for years and love it.

It’s not the most expensive and doesn’t have tons of bells and whistles.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

But I like to put together my planner slowly.

So I used an inexpensive printer and take my time.

Other Homeschool Planner Sections to Add

Furthermore, look at some of these options that can make your teen’s homeschool planner unique.-

Add a two page month calendar. Not all teens plan everything on their phone. Some prefer to jot down appointments.

Too, teens may prefer to use their own lesson planning pages.

I have some unique ones which helps them to track time by 15 minutes increments.

In addition, add some growth mindset pages or pages to help plan for college or a career.

Even fun growth mindset coloring pages are a whimsical add if you have a creative teen who loves to color still.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

Look at these different color combinations.

The first cover above is blue, the second one has a bit of a floral touch and the last one is a gorgeous green.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

Just remember that my pages are not created to print black and white but that is your choice.

Other Planner Forms for Your Teen

Not only can your teen use my calendars in his or her planner, but any of my forms which help your teens to manage their day.

  • Choose Goals and Objectives Forms
  • Choose lesson planning pages for teens or choose from my editable lesson planning pages.

How to Plan Your First Homeschool Year When You Don’t Know How To Start

July 22, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I’m sharing 4 tried and true ways how to plan your first homeschool year when you don’t know how to start. And having the right homeschool planner for your first-year matters.

You’ve left traditional school and your planning should now reflect your new homeschool life you’ve adopted.

However, your first year of homeschooling can be daunting for many reasons.

At the top of the list of concerns are how to find curriculum and how to plan.

How to Plan Your First Homeschool Year When You Don't Know How To Start

Also, knowing what is important now to plan your new homeschool year and what can wait matters.

In addition, you’ll want to make changes throughout your first year.

Why? Now that you’re 1:1 tutoring you will have an excellent grasp on what your children truly know and don’t know.

Homeschool Planning

First, this is the BEST piece of advice although some do not want to hear it.

How to Plan Your First Homeschool Year When You Don't Know How To Start

Do not buy curriculum – yet.

Not only do I want you to have an incredible start, but want to help you save hundreds if not thousands of dollars too.

So before you can choose curriculum, you need to understand where to find it and how to choose it.

The point I’m making is that it’s just as important to know what not to do.

So, don’t let doubts, fears, and misconceptions keep you from making your first homeschool year memorable for the right reasons.

Too, it will take time to not only learn where homeschoolers hang out at, but to understand the new lingo.

BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE WAY AHEAD AND NOT STRUGGLE

After you grab the lingo to understand terms in the homeschool world, look at these 4 best ways to begin your year.

4 BEST Ways to Plan Your First Homeschool Year

First, know your local law, but also know how to meet it.

It’s one thing to read it but quite another thing to homeschool with the nuts and bolts of it each day.

Too, some homeschool laws are very relaxed and a first-time homeschooler may want more details.

However, know that with relaxed laws comes much homeschool freedom.

1. Know Your Local Law AND How to Meet It.

On the other hand, some states have very strict laws. Again, be familiar first with your local state law.

You can find out your state law in two ways;

  1. Find your state’s laws on this page with HSLDA and/or
  2. ask me right here or email me at tinahomeschools at gmail dot com. I’ve helped HUNDREDS get on the road to homeschooling and stay on it. I can help you too.

Next, it won’t take long to understand what is deschooling.

I know you’re eager to get started, but taking just a few days to make your foundation strong will benefit you your whole journey.

How to Plan Your First Homeschool Year When You Don't Know How To Start

Not only do I have a wonderful video for you, but I have this post

2. Don’t Set Up Your Home Like a Public School Classroom. Deschool Next.

Taking your kids out of public school one day and begin homeschooling the next day is a common rookie mistake.

At this point, take time to change to a relaxed mindset and clearly understand how a homeschool method is VERY different from a traditional public school approach.

If you don’t want to repeat the same mistakes at home that weren’t working in public school, you need to know how to deschool.

Thereafter, you want to move quickly to understand how homeschool curriculum is organized.

3. Save yourself HUNDREDS of dollars by knowing how curriculum is organized in the homeschool world.

Having a basic grasp of the top 5 approaches, new homeschoolers can conquer overwhelm and tame the curriculum beast.

And my post Top 5 Homeschool Approaches New Homeschoolers Need to Know will help you get started.

Also, look at my online self-paced course Teaching the Stages of Homeschool. You’ll learn From PreK to High School, Learn at a Bird’s-Eye View of What Subjects to Teach & When to Teach Them

Finally, the best way to begin with choosing curriculum is to begin with free to inexpensive curriculum.

4. Begin teaching your children with inexpensive curriculum until you know how your children learn best.

As I mentioned the outset, you’ll have a better pulse on how your children learn best, but until you tutor you don’t know their strengths and weaknesses.

Also, I have my first time homeschooler kickstarter course.

5 Beautiful and Detailed Planners for Homeschool Moms

July 16, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today, I have 5 beautiful and detailed planners for homeschool moms because your organizational tool matters. And your homeschool planner should reflect how you plan.

For instance, you do not plan for a classroom or need a planner with blanks for 30 students.

However, you do need room to write if only for one child or multiple children that you’re planning for.

In addition, not all states have the same record keeping laws.

Choosing a homeschool planner matters because you have unique needs for not only your state, but the homeschool approach you’ve chosen.

5 Beautiful and Detailed Planners for Homeschool Moms

Having room to write is important for homeschool moms as we choose planners.

Moreover, some of us start homeschooling by following a traditional public-school approach.

After we’ve homeschooled for a while, we embrace the true reasons we homeschool.

Adjusting lesson plans to fit our children and choosing a homeschool approach which helps our children learn best are most important.

Power Pages Planner

However, one foundation on which I build homeschool planners on is something that motivates or impacts me for the day. So, it’s important that you make the planner fit YOUR needs as well.

For example, one huge thing that motivates me are power words.

I work on a mindset each day. And having just one word to think about or shift my focus can make my day positive while planning.

I use power words as dividers in my planners.

It is a subtle way to remind me either to relax or rev up depending on the feeling I’m experiencing.

Homeschooling is flat out tough some days and I want homeschooling planning something I look forward to.

Printable Homeschool Lesson Planner

In addition, when you print your own homeschool planner you not only get exactly what you want but can save money.

Too, you don’t really need expensive equipment to print your own planner.

For years I’ve used this Canon Pixma Printer.

And I even took it with me when we moved overseas because it fits into my backpack.

Next, I’ve always coil bound my planners. I do not like the rings which come on notebooks and want my planner to lay flat.

It’s important when you’re printing your planner to decide how you want to bind it.

5 Beautiful and Detailed Planners for Homeschool Moms

Finally, if you purchase a printable planner online or print one for free, remember to add specific sections that you need which you can find here Best and Unique 7 Step Homeschool Planner.

PLANNERS FOR HOMESCHOOL MOMS

If you're looking for a planner to use for your whole homeschool journey. You're at the right place here at Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus.

A Unique Flexible and Beautiful Early Learner Planner

This unique flexible and beautiful preschool homeschool planner is the perfect homeschool planner to use for early learners. While creating this 47-page early learner planner I included flexible planning pages.

Forms like 21 thematic planning pages, a year at a glance page, and 12 months of planning your theme are a few included.

Adding in an editable lesson planning template and 4 colorful attendance sheets helps you to easily meet record keeping guidelines if necessary.

Gorgeous 7 Step Free Homeschool Planner You Build

Build your gorgeous 7 step free homeschool planner for your homeschool planner. With 7 easy steps you’ll not only be organized, but have a unique hard working tool.

When you create a planner for your homeschool, you’re making it unique to your needs. Planners which are prepared for classroom use are not set up to use for a family.

Plus, when you purchase one giant put together planner, you’re not hand picking the forms you need this year.

Homeschool Lesson Planner Glam It Up!

First, this is something different than what I have now. It is a package.

No, not complete package like most people might think because I don’t believe in boring planners with tons of matchy matchy pages and given to you in one huge download.

My purpose in making this Glam It Up package is to give you just a few pages that are matching and that will jump start you to create the perfect planner.

It is not my intention to make every page you may want because then the power to create what you need each year leaves you.

The Best Colorful Undated Dynamic Daily Homeschool Planner

Look at these features.

  • It is letter size. I want ample room to write and a letter size planner gives you lots of room for writing.
  • It’s an ALL color planner. I LOVE beautiful designs and I know you do too.
  • You print and bind it with coil. This allows the planner to lay flat and with no BIG rings in the center of the planner to get in the way of writing.
  • Because it’s an undated planner, you write in the date daily. If life happens and you skip a few days, just pick up with the next school day. No getting behind because it’s YOUR schedule. Homeschooling adjusts to YOUR life instead of you feeling behind if you miss a day.

The Ultimate and Beautiful DIY Homeschool Unit Study Planner

One huge mistake is trying to fit a few planning pages for a unit study into your homeschool planner.

A unit study is a completely different approach than traditional curriculum. The pages should reflect your way of teaching.

What that means is that besides planning a unit study page, your planner should have an objective page, a way to track your unit studies and lesson planning templates.

These are just a few of the unique pages you should have in your unit study planner. But what is a unit study? Here is my definition which I have used before.
