5 Beautiful and Detailed Planners for Homeschool Moms

July 16, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today, I have 5 beautiful and detailed planners for homeschool moms because your organizational tool matters. And your homeschool planner should reflect how you plan.

For instance, you do not plan for a classroom or need a planner with blanks for 30 students.

However, you do need room to write if only for one child or multiple children that you’re planning for.

In addition, not all states have the same record keeping laws.

Choosing a homeschool planner matters because you have unique needs for not only your state, but the homeschool approach you’ve chosen.

5 Beautiful and Detailed Planners for Homeschool Moms

Having room to write is important for homeschool moms as we choose planners.

Moreover, some of us start homeschooling by following a traditional public-school approach.

After we’ve homeschooled for a while, we embrace the true reasons we homeschool.

Adjusting lesson plans to fit our children and choosing a homeschool approach which helps our children learn best are most important.

Power Pages Planner

However, one foundation on which I build homeschool planners on is something that motivates or impacts me for the day. So, it’s important that you make the planner fit YOUR needs as well.

For example, one huge thing that motivates me are power words.

I work on a mindset each day. And having just one word to think about or shift my focus can make my day positive while planning.

I use power words as dividers in my planners.

It is a subtle way to remind me either to relax or rev up depending on the feeling I’m experiencing.

Homeschooling is flat out tough some days and I want homeschooling planning something I look forward to.

Printable Homeschool Lesson Planner

In addition, when you print your own homeschool planner you not only get exactly what you want but can save money.

Too, you don’t really need expensive equipment to print your own planner.

For years I’ve used this Canon Pixma Printer.

And I even took it with me when we moved overseas because it fits into my backpack.

Next, I’ve always coil bound my planners. I do not like the rings which come on notebooks and want my planner to lay flat.

It’s important when you’re printing your planner to decide how you want to bind it.

Finally, if you purchase a printable planner online or print one for free, remember to add specific sections that you need which you can find here Best and Unique 7 Step Homeschool Planner.

PLANNERS FOR HOMESCHOOL MOMS

If you're looking for a planner to use for your whole homeschool journey. You're at the right place here at Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus.

A Unique Flexible and Beautiful Early Learner Planner

This unique flexible and beautiful preschool homeschool planner is the perfect homeschool planner to use for early learners. While creating this 47-page early learner planner I included flexible planning pages.

Forms like 21 thematic planning pages, a year at a glance page, and 12 months of planning your theme are a few included.

Adding in an editable lesson planning template and 4 colorful attendance sheets helps you to easily meet record keeping guidelines if necessary.

Gorgeous 7 Step Free Homeschool Planner You Build

Build your gorgeous 7 step free homeschool planner for your homeschool planner. With 7 easy steps you’ll not only be organized, but have a unique hard working tool.

When you create a planner for your homeschool, you’re making it unique to your needs. Planners which are prepared for classroom use are not set up to use for a family.

Plus, when you purchase one giant put together planner, you’re not hand picking the forms you need this year.

Homeschool Lesson Planner Glam It Up!

First, this is something different than what I have now. It is a package.

No, not complete package like most people might think because I don’t believe in boring planners with tons of matchy matchy pages and given to you in one huge download.

My purpose in making this Glam It Up package is to give you just a few pages that are matching and that will jump start you to create the perfect planner.

It is not my intention to make every page you may want because then the power to create what you need each year leaves you.

The Best Colorful Undated Dynamic Daily Homeschool Planner

Look at these features.

  • It is letter size. I want ample room to write and a letter size planner gives you lots of room for writing.
  • It’s an ALL color planner. I LOVE beautiful designs and I know you do too.
  • You print and bind it with coil. This allows the planner to lay flat and with no BIG rings in the center of the planner to get in the way of writing.
  • Because it’s an undated planner, you write in the date daily. If life happens and you skip a few days, just pick up with the next school day. No getting behind because it’s YOUR schedule. Homeschooling adjusts to YOUR life instead of you feeling behind if you miss a day.

The Ultimate and Beautiful DIY Homeschool Unit Study Planner

One huge mistake is trying to fit a few planning pages for a unit study into your homeschool planner.

A unit study is a completely different approach than traditional curriculum. The pages should reflect your way of teaching.

What that means is that besides planning a unit study page, your planner should have an objective page, a way to track your unit studies and lesson planning templates.

These are just a few of the unique pages you should have in your unit study planner. But what is a unit study? Here is my definition which I have used before.

5 Reasons a Paper Planner Is Better Than a Homeschool Online Planner

July 9, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Hands down I choose a paper planner over a homeschool online planner for my homeschool planner each year. Even with the explosions of apps and online lesson planning, they still don’t beat a beautiful homeschool paper planner.

In addition, supplies of beautiful and colorful stationery, pens, and planner accessories has increased. There is no shortage.

Now that the digital age has been here a while, there is more data on the benefits of a paper planner over an online planner.

Using an online planner may appear to have several advantages.

However, there is one significant advantage that comes instantly to mind when I think about using my 7 Step Curriculum Planner. That is, I’m not constantly going from one thing to the next thing haphazardly.

The bottom line is that my paper planner helps me to not overschedule.

5 Reasons a Paper Planner Is Better Than a Homeschool Online Planner

It’s so easy with a digital planner to quickly drag and drop and fill in the online calendar. It looks pretty, but will it work?

And it may appear that you’re achieving your goals, or it could be that you’ve created unrealistic goals.

That is exactly what happened to my writing habits when I tried using an online planner.

Instead of slowing down and really thinking if my lesson plans or schedules would work, I just plugged-in arbitrary plans.

Why Is It Important to Use a Homeschool Planner

So, when making comparisons between any type of homeschool planners, you need to be clear how you best organized.

And don’t assume because we have a plethora of fun apps that you can’t use some of them.

However, what you choose as your main organizing tool should be given consideration.

Before you can do that, clearly focusing on why it’s important to use a homeschool planner will give you a bigger picture.

Look at these 5 questions.

  1. Do you need to see a big picture, or do you need room to write details?
  2. Will your method of planning help you to slow down and ponder what you’re planning?
  3. Is your homeschool planner creating stress or oozing relaxing vibes?
  4. Does your organizing tool encourage consistency or constant change? In other words, will you constantly be changing the form, adding pages, taking pages out, adding apps or sections. This is not being organized.
  5. Finally, most important does your organizing tool bend to our homeschool life? Or, does your homeschool planner lack flexibility by being dated and make you feel that is should be filled in?

5 Printable Homeschool Lesson Planner Advantages

Furthermore, look at some of the reasons why I love a paper homeschool planner.

Besides, loving the fact that my 7 Step Curriculum Planner encourages me to plan more realistically, it’s visual.

1. As a visual homeschool educator, my printable homeschool planner is a visual organizing tool.

I’m a visual teacher and love all the items which help me to stay organized.

An excel spread sheet is way too analytical and doesn’t excite me.

5 Reasons a Paper Planner Is Better Than a Homeschool Online Planner

Whether you love bookmarks as a way to find your place in a planner or larger rubber bands, make your printed planner suit you. For instance, I’ve always loved the Semikolon Sticky Tab Markers.

2.Your creative record keeping stays well past online homeschool planners.

Next, another favorite part about a printed homeschool planner is that it is UNIQUELY yours as a family.

I journal, add pictures, chart my children’ progress, and otherwise jotted down my fears as well as hopes. Nothing compares to my handwritten thoughts.

3. I can see the big picture glance at a glance instead of scrolling and scrolling.

Next, no scrolling is needed to see what you want to at an instant glance.

It’s a great brain break to step away from devices and use the planner I built specifically for my homeschool.

And then did I mention the numerous options, page designs and sections you can create with a printed homeschool planner?

4. Nothing compares to a creative planner with sections you specifically choose for your unique homeschool journey.

I say it all the time, why purchase something put together when you can create a one of a kind homeschool planner using my beautiful and free printables?

Finally, it boosts my creative energy.

5. It reduces the stress of several windows open at one time which can be very distracting to planning.

Instead of having several windows open with distractions, I am focused singularly on my family’s needs.

In the digital age we live in, don’t think we can’t use online tools. I love having our Google family calendar so we can all see what is coming up. But my use of them is balanced.

Free List of Major Holidays For 5 Years 1 Planning Page

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I’ve updated the list of major holidays for your homeschool planner. Having a list of the major holidays for 5 years on one page is a handy reference page used in planning.

And too everybody plans differently for holidays. Homeschoolers can from many backgrounds and not all of us take off every holiday.

This form not only helps you plan your homeschool, but gives you a reference for when businesses will be closed. Also, it helps me to remember when public school may be out in my area.

Planning Your Homeschool Around Holidays

Also, this 5 years of major holidays on one reference page I have for you today gives you much flexibility when preparing your 7 Step DIY Homeschool Planner.

Free List of Major Holidays For 5 Years 1 Planning Page

  • Short-term planning becomes a cinch because you can quickly glance at upcoming holidays.
  • By looking this far out, it helps me to decide when I want to take a family vacation.

But these forms are used to help you plan not just your homeschool year, but vacations and days off of your school year.

Also, my form can be used beyond planning homeschool and holidays.

It can be used in my diy easy home management binder, diy best student planner, and unit study planner.

4 Beautiful & Colorful Homeschool Attendance Sheets For Record Keeping

June 30, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

If you need a homeschool attendance sheet for your homeschool planner, you’ll find one here.

Even if you’re not required to take attendance in your state, my attendance sheets will help you stay on track. However, some states do require a certain number of days to homeschool.

It’s easy to track them when you have a detailed easy form.

Why Track Attendance?

Although I’ve homeschooled the longest in Texas where I do not have to track attendance, I did for many years.

6 reasons to track attendance.

  1. When you’re new to homeschooling, you may want accountability for your new schedule.
  2. If you think you’re not doing enough with your new schedule, track the days you’re showing up. You may be surprised.
  3. Eventually by middle school and high school, you’ll need to track classes for your teen. Creating a high school transcript for some colleges may require it.
  4. I decide how I break during the year when I track our days. It means I plan vacations and time away from formal lessons.
  5. And sometimes the sheet needs to be included in your portfolio for your state.
  6. A teen may need accountability. And you can encourage him to track his time and place his form in DIY Student Planner.

4 Beautiful & Colorful Homeschool Attendance Sheets For Record Keeping

Next, when choosing a homeschool attendance sheet, you have options.

For example, some forms are created for multiple children. While other forms have one page per student.

In addition, I prefer forms to which explains why the day was counted as absent.

All my forms have a key or legend where you can see reasons why the day was missed. Another valuable area on the attendance sheet is to allow you to determine when you begin and stop.

A lot of homeschoolers homeschool year round. Because of homeschooling year round, a traditional school year calendar won’t work.

Too, even if you begin your first of the year with a physical year, you want choices.

4 Types of Homeschool Attendance Sheets

Below, find which form suits your needs this year.

Option 1. An Attendance Record | 4 Students on one page| All months blank.

4 Beautiful & Colorful Homeschool Attendance Sheets For Record Keeping

You write in the month you begin. But tracking all your children is on ONE page. It is undated and has a key. Download here Attendance Record on One Page – Max 4 Students.

Option 2. Attendance Sheet | 4 Students on one page | Months beginning July to June.

Also, you can download this form Option 2 here.

Option 3. Editable Attendance Sheet | 1 Page Per Student| 3 color options in this one download.

4 Beautiful & Colorful Homeschool Attendance Sheets For Record Keeping
  • This is one page for one student, however, there are three different and beautiful color options in this one download.
  • There is a section where you add the beginning and ending month of your school year. Whether you begin using a physical year or academic year, you decide which months. Note: The month is vertical text on the form and has room for a three letter abbreviation. (See the picture below.)

The Ultimate and Beautiful DIY Homeschool Unit Study Planner

June 29, 2022 | 1 Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

An ultimate and beautiful diy homeschool unit study planner should stand alone as your homeschool planner.

Unit study curriculum takes one topic and includes as many subjects as possible. It builds an entire curriculum around the topic covering subjects like language arts, math, reading, art, history, science, and geography with hands-on application.

Next, look at these 5 features of this beautiful planner.

  1. This a DIY planner. You print pages in your download.
  2. It is a colorful planner.
  3. Detailed lesson planning pages are divided for multiple ages.
  4. Learning objective and assessment pages are included.
  5. More than 1 planner cover is included for variety and the BEST
  6. thing is that my forms are VERY DETAILED. I’m not creating USELESS BLANK pages. I create pages which guide you in planning.
The Ultimate and Beautiful DIY Homeschool Unit Study Planner

Unit Study Homeschool Planner

Moreover, the planner has pages which help you track your unit studies. Planning unit studies is quite different than planning using traditional curriculum.

For example, you may choose topics ahead of time. You need a form to jot down your ideas or topics your children choose.

However, waiting some time to plan the day to day or week to week planning can be smart. Interests may change and your goals for what you want your children to cover may change.

Unlike traditional curriculum, planning for unit studies take place ahead of the school year and should take place during the school year.

Finally, look at the detailed pages included as you put together your planner:

  • 4 unit study planner covers
  • Checklists and Unit Tracker
  • Planning unit studies packet
  • Lesson Planning pages with subjects filled in
  • Lesson Planning pages with editable spaces for your subjects
  • Learning Objectives forms
  • Assessment Form
  • Variety of Journal Pages
  • 83 pages.
