Gift Ideas for the New Homeschool Mom @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus -1-1

What can you get a new homeschool mom to make her first year memorable?

(pssst…do you have some of these things?)

3. Family Time Fitness - Fitness 4 Homeschool Book Version4.

1.  Rolling Cart Luv I have 3 of these things. Once you get past baby strollers and no longer have a baby as an excuse for using your stroller, these are sweet. I leave mine in the car if the convention has a book room to store my books. Then I roll it in afterwards and carry out all my loot. Some people like to just wheel it around behind them as they visit each booth.

2. Washi Tape Luv  I can’t imagine starting to plan and organize without it, but some new homeschoolers do. (okay okay). Probably not a must, but it is a must-have to keep all planners pretty and organized.

3. Sharpie Luv  For writing down sight words to labeling, all moms love these things. You can’t go wrong with a set of these in those pretty pastel colors.

4. Fitness Curriculum. I think a lot of us, including myself, still find it hard to fit exercising in for the day. It is a must, so this encourages good habits by taking time for mom from the beginning.

5. 101 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum The reference for new and seasoned homeschoolers alike.

6. I Homeschool because I have seen the village T-Shirt    If she has a love for t-shirts, she’ll love this one.

7. Amazon Gift Card Luv Oh the things we could buy as a new homeschool mom. Do I need to say anything more?

8. Currclick What she really wants is more curriculum. Feed her curriculum feddish with a gift card from Currclick. Somehow using that instead of buying it herself she finds a way to purchase something fun she may not have bought otherwise.

9.   Some days are just chocolate covered cherry days. One of my very favorite chocolates is with the ooey- gooey cherry filling and even chocolate covered cherries. Some days she will just need chocolate because nothing else will do.

10. Staedtler Pens for Planner Luv My newest obsession at the moment for writing in my planners.

11. Buy A Workshop. After giving her the link to our free new homeschoolers workshop, buy her one workshop for a topic you know she struggles with.

12. Ultimate Unit Study Planner. If she is a lover of printable planners, she will love this.

13. Banderole Pencil Luv Matter of fact, making one gift basket with the sharpies, washi tape, pens and pencils in it and anything else pretty you find, would make a great gift for a new homeschool mom.

14. Stylus Set Luv These are just great to have around for everybody and their devices.  Maybe if you get a set of them, she can fine just one when she needs it.

15.  Then the ultimate gift for a new homeschool mom has to be a registration to the upcoming Great Homeschool Convention.

I am so giddy because the details have been finalized for the convention to be in Forth Worth, Texas for 2015. Though I will likely be moved by then, I can plan way ahead of time to be in the country by then for this upscale homeschool convention.

What do you think? Can you think of any more gift ideas for a new homeschool mom?

Hugs and love ya,

22. Planning Sheet for Multiple Children.

Purpose of Form: To help you to not over plan. Seeing a realistic overview of the subjects you are trying to accomplish for the year keeps them in perspective. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy by over planning too many subjects. All subjects fall into the categories listed on the form. To understand more about homeschooling multiple children and using this form go to my blog post here:  5 Days Of The Benefits & Challenges of Teaching Mixed Ages Together – Day 4: Embrace Homeschooling Multiple Grades.

23. Planning & Tracking Memorization Work.

Purpose of Form: To both plan and track all types of memorization work for your homeschool. A key has been provided at the top of the form to help you plan and record as you want to keep memorization work balanced and fun when you add it to your school year.

7 Step Homeschool Planner

  24. Homeschool Co-op Planning & Tracking Classes.

Purpose of Form: To track content covered in a homeschool co-op class.  Look at the sample below where I explain how to use it and stay organized.

About the time period section.  Instead of using “July to June” which I use for most of my year round forms, I left the time period blank because homeschool co-op are all very different as to when they begin and end.

Your children may attend a co-op once a week, once a month or multiple times a week.  The time period “From____ to ____” is much more flexible and allows you to track the time period by months, semesters or weeks.

The page also has 8 boxes or sections on it which is enough either for a 7 day week or for about 2 months if attendance is monthly.

About 8 sections for the 7 day week.  Some homeschool co-op activities flow into the weekend even if your child attends only 5 days a week.  Especially at the high school level or when you are in a state or country where you need to track all the activities your children are doing, the 8 sections allows a place to jot down what they have covered during the 5 day week and as they do activities that flow into the 2 day weekend.

If you need to track actual hours, the box is big enough to pencil the time in too.  I am still on the fence about adding a box within the notes section for actual hours, but I know not everybody tracks that exacting.  Again, it’s big enough though if you do need to track that way.

About 8 sections for monthly co-ops.  Our co-op met monthly so I would use one sections to track each monthly meet up.  So one page would be enough for me to get about 2 months on it.

About Name{s} section.  I even left the name section very vague instead of putting “Student’s Name” on that part.  If all of your children attend the co-op, you may want to put their names in that box or in my case, our co-op had a name so I would put the co-op name in that area.  There was a time when we were attending parts of two co-ops also.  So I would have two forms going in my planner for that scenario, with the name of the co-op on each one.

Too, you can use one form per child and put each child’s name in that section and this is especially helpful if you have a teen in high school.  It allows you a way to track just his or her activities when you need a bit more record keeping for a young adult.  Sometimes each child is going to a different co-op and you may need one form per child.  Too, it may just be your preference that each child has his own form.

Like all my forms, you decide which forms to print and how many instead of me deciding for you by throwing one huge curriculum planner at one time which is never my style.

About the date/s section.  As you can see from the sample above, it also is very flexible allowing you to fill it in and check each day for the week or just use it for one time a week.

 25. Library Resources List.

Purpose of Form: To track library resources. The title of this form is “Library RESOURCES” and not Library Books.  Most of the time we can borrow so many more things from a library other than just books.  For example, at our library we can borrow DVDS too.

So I used a more broad term to include other media you may borrow from the library.  Then the next thing I did was to divide the sections by 10 items.

Sometimes we will pick up a lot of items at the library and sometimes it is just a few.  But hopefully, with the sections divided by 10 items, which means that 30 titles fit on one page, it will help you to see at a glance how many items are not returned yet.

So the captions across the top are titles, due date and then a column to mark when you have returned the item.  Plus I like things separated a bit when I am writing on my planner instead of everything running together.

Library Resources List 350x @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

Field Trip Reference Chart 350x @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

 26. Beyond Museums and Zoos Homeschool Field Trip Reference Form.

Purpose of Form:  After you have homeschooled for a few years, you realize that some places are what I call keepers for each year.  They are places you don’t mind visiting again and again like museums and a zoo. But as time marches on and kids grow, you need ideas for other places.

So I created a homeschool field trip reference chart that is divided by season that you can easily add to your 7 step homeschool planner. I added 10 ideas for each season.

In listing the ideas, I tried to avoid some places, not all though that would be pretty obvious in a particular season.  You know about them already and besides you probably have traditions or will have them in each season.  Print if off and keep it near your field trip section so if the creative juices aren’t flowing, you can reference this page.

  27. Digital Books List Forms.

Purpose of Form: With the growing amount of wonderful digital products, it can be hard to know what you have without constantly searching your devices.

This form allows you to group resources by 4 and it has a place to jot down what you may want to remember on the digital resources for lesson planning purposes.

Too, the longer box above each grouping of 4, allows you to organize your content by genre.

For example, if you have Civil War history books, then use Civil War for your title and list your resources under that. Add your notes and even put page numbers if you want to.

Printing this off and keeping it handy in your planner, you can have a picture at a glimpse of what digital forms you are storing on your devices.

I have two fun colors. One is color and one is gray. Me? I print off the color one and the rest of the pages I use the gray-ish one.

Digital Books List 350x Color
Digital Books List 350x

  28. Scope and Sequence Divider Pages.

Purpose of Form:  Sometimes you don’t want or need a whole tabbed section for your scope and sequence, but you may want to add them to another section. The bottom line is that one side or page, which is the beginning of the scope and sequence can be blank.

And since I have different things within a tabbed section, I decided to create dividers for the scope and sequence section to print on the blank side. This makes it prettier and you know too what is on the other side of the page. I don’t like blank pages in my planner and since each page counts, these divider pages come into different fonts and are great to print on the other side of the page.

  29. Science Materials Checklist

Purpose of Form: Prepare your science materials for the new year. More than once, I have been caught short at the house with some of the supplies we needed in our home to complete the activities.

And even though we have used laid out science curriculum too, I have learned a lot through the years regarding how to stock my kitchen and home.

Finally, I have reduced some of the things we have used over and over, year after year and put them in this homeschool science materials checklist.

30. Hands-on Project Rubric

Purpose of Form: To use as a way to grade hands-on projects. Be sure to look at my post How to Grade Hands-on Homeschool Activities and Projects (Free Rubric for Grading) for more specific tips on how to get the most benefit from using it.

Free 2014 Year Around Homeschool Planning Schedule

November 30, 2013 | 4 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I have been enjoying my week visiting with some friends from out of town that are traveling ministers.  But, knowing that we want to move sooner than later to South America, there is no rest for me. I probably won’t settle down until we actually land in South America.

It has not been easy keeping that secret until all of our friends know because my house looks like one big giant flea market right now.

I don’t know exactly when we will move because I can only move so fast with the Mr.

What I do know is that for sure I will keep you posted as we get closer to the date. I know it’s probably a bad time of the year to be packing/moving, but focusing on how good the move will be for the Mr.’s health, I am excited at the same time.

Free 2014 Year Around Homeschool Planning Schedule

Talking about keeping you posted, I do want to give you the heads up on a deal with Family Time Fitness because their Black Friday Sale ends today. Yikes,  I wanted to give this to you earlier, but with all the company and packing, I’m just now getting this to you.Today, I have the year around homeschool schedule for 2014.  Many of you homeschool in other countries that start their school year with the beginning of the physical year, you may pulling your kids out of school just now or you want a new look for your planner, so I went ahead and put together a 2014 year around homeschooling schedule.

2014 Physical Year Around Homeschool Schedule Download here 2014 Physical Year Around Homeschool Planning Schedule.

Remember, I updated this form earlier this year and added the comprehensive key at the bottom. If you don’t remember how to utilize that area, go here to Step 5: Choose Unique Forms because I explain how to use it on that page.

I am going to try to school as best we can with packing too. Sounds like an adventure to me. Do you think I can do it? I hope to stay sane when we arrive in South America so for sure I will go slow.

Now you know why I spent so long on our South America Unit Study.  I will share our next unit study soon.

Hugs and love ya,

Free 2014 2 Page Calendar Spread CP @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

It’s a disease I am telling you. I get so giddy when it comes time to creating or updating my forms that I can hardly take it.

I normally try to get these to you by December, but this year I am getting them to you a bit early because I just can’t stand making you wait too long.

Forever Blog Cover CP - 3 @ Tinas Dynamic Homeschool Plus

I wanted to give you a peak at what I have been working on too over the last several months. I have been needing a comprehensive blog planner and so I decided to create one. I know not everybody blogs, but if you do, you might give it a look when I’m done. I don’t make deadlines for myself on planners because you know how fussy exacting I am about my printables, but I have set a goal for completing it by the end of the year. I will put it in my estore, but will give you the heads up when it’s ready.

Today, I actually have two options or color choices for you for the 2014 – 2 page per 1 month spread for appointments.

Download Light As Air here.

Download New Beginnings here.

I couldn’t resist naming them or the pun on our slogan. Corny I know, but I like it.

Light as air doesn’t have as much color as New Beginnings. I get overboard loving the color on my calendar and then try to rein myself back in realizing not everybody likes so much color on the calendars.

You know how I feel – I love as much color as I can get, but I gave you the light as air choice in case you are saving your ink for something else.

Guess what? Next post, I will let you in on the secret I have been holding back for months now. It’s time and I am excited to tell you.

Free Homeschool Community Service Planning Record

October 22, 2013 | 11 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I have a homeschool community service planning form. Also, look my page DIY Best Student Planner. Also, look at DIY 7 Step Curriculum Planner and my page Homeschool Planner for more forms which easily can be used here.

One need that was real obvious to me right away was something to track his community service.

Sure he can write it down in his student planner, but “I” needed to track it too so I had a clear idea on the hours for record keeping purposes.

Free Homeschool Community Service Planning Record

I just couldn’t wait. I had to share a picture or two because I just got back the graduation party pictures and I have a new planning page that I am excited to get into your little hands also.

Updated Robertson Family Picture

At least now I have an updated family picture and loved how this one turned out.

10 Days of Plannning Homeschool Highschool Graduation

I have a few more to share with you and then the rest I want to  show you when I start my 10 days of planning a homeschool high school graduation.

HOMESCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE PLANNING RECORD

I have MUCH to tell you about what to do and what not to do when planning. Plus, I need to tell you about it when its fresh on my mind.

Mr. Senior 2013

Here is the graduation picture that I am loving. I like it the best of the “official” cap and gown ones, but he did have some taken outside too.

Graduation Picture outside
Mr. Senior 2013 Graduation Picture outside

Another project I had reeling around in my head for new followers and maybe not so new followers is to explain the steps for my planning pages. I

I want to show you what constantly is going on in my mind as I continue to build the planning pages. And I will put this new visual on my blog so that hopefully  nobody gets overwhelmed as I continue to have ideas for new forms swirl around in my head.

7 Steps to Planning a DIY Homeschool Curriculum Planner @ Tinas Dynamic Homeschool Plus1

COMMUNITY SERVICE PLANNING RECORD

Too because I realize I needed some new forms as I was record keeping for Mr. Senior 2013 through the last four years, I will slowly be sharing those as  I go along too.

Free Homeschool Community Service Planning Record. Need a way to track your teen's volunteer hours or community service? You'll love this AWESOME form! Click here to download it.

So here is the latest form for your highschooler. Too, some states require more intensive record keeping and so if you are doing anything to give back to your community and you need to track it for your children because it counts as school, this form will work for you.

It is a 7 day week because a lot of times community service is done on the weekends too. I have 2 slots on each day which is just enough room to jot down the total hours or time spent and a simple note for the type of service. Then a total for that week is at the bottom. Use the larger box at the very top for the total monthly time spent.

If you need more room and there was a specific community project or you are doing something different each week, then use the long dotted line out beside the week to make more notes for  the project.

By keeping this a monthly form, you can print off as many or as few as you need. In other words, you may not be doing something for the whole year.

I have a bit of color creating withdrawal lately so this satisfies my color craving for just a short time anyway. I LOVE color and hope you do too.
