Here are 12 amazing gifts for the science lovers in your life from preschooler to adult and covering a wide range of science interests as unique as they are.

Do you have a friend or family member with a little bit of a science loving nerdy vibe?

You might have been searching for just the right gift but couldn’t quite settle on what it might be.

Unleash Your Inner Scientist: 12 Amazing Gifts for the Science Lovers

Those with an interest in science can be a little trickier to buy for without loading them down with textbooks and test tubes as your only gift options.

You really have to think outside the box, or the beaker as it were to really wow them.

Science is a pretty broad topic like -Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geology, Astronomy, Animals, Botany, and Earth Science.

Whatever your science lover is crazy about there is a great gift out there for them and I have tried to gather them up in one place to help you out with little muss and fuss.

What scientist in your life are you shopping for? Your preschooler? Middle schooler? Spouse? Co-op teacher?  Maybe you want to treat yourself or surprise a friend with a creative gift idea that is a little different.

There are many ways to help them show off a love of science in a fun, silly way that still supports their passion and even encourages it with a thoughtful gift.

Let’s look at some ideas and see if we can find a gift that has the right chemistry and will cause a positive reaction for your favorite scientist to experiment with.

I tried to make sure that there was a variety of topics, prices, and items for different personalities for you to choose from.

These ideas will bring science to life and celebrate their uniqueness through science kits, posters, t-shirts, and even fun science promoting jewelry that they will adore.

If you really want to get a science-loving kid even more into science try a really fun board game like this one that covers  biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy, zoology, anatomy, and physics.

The Chemistry of Cola (Curious World of Kitchen Science)

This is one of a series of books on chemistry, biology, physics (and even a math option) that include really fun hands-on experiments to try with easy to understand instructions and explanations.

Graduated Cylinders and Beakers with 5 Pipettes

If you are stocking up for a science lover a nice set of bakers and cylinders is a must for experiments or even just really cool decor

Vintage Entomology Poster

Replica vintage Cavallini posters are available in a variety of science topics and look great on the wall anywhere in the house, office, or school room no matter what the science subject is

Compound monocular Microscope with Microscope Slide Set, Cell Phone Adapter

A must have item for any science fanatic no matter which branch of science they like. This option can be connected to the phone or computer to get an even better look at the specimen.

The Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia

While you can use the internet to look up just about anything you want to know, nothing beats a nice science reference book like an encyclopedia that covers the entire span of sciences. I really like the Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia and it is great for upper elementary through high school for reference and inspiration.

Caffeine Beaker Mug

For the adult that loves Chemistry this beaker coffee mug is a fantastic and fun way to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, just make sure they don’t get them confused with the lab one.

Not your typical wall poster, I enjoy something like this that is not only educational but is a beautiful display that would look just as good on the coffee table as it would a school desk. With real samples of elements and a magnifying glass to have a closer look at each one this is a nice conversation piece.

Science can be funny and silly shirts like this prove that academia doesn't have to be uptight, it can be downright hilarious to wear.

Forensic Science Lab - Crime Scene Science Kit

An open and go science kit in a box is a great way for kids to explore an interest and there are so many different options to choose from, beyond this cool Forensics lab one. The best thing about them is that usually everything they need, with the exception of a few basic household items is included in the box.

Plant Propagation Station

This is great for the budding botanist and looks so pretty on the desk or in a window. I love that it is also useful because they are able to learn about propagating plants, hydroponics, and watch the roots grow.

Microscope Dangle Earrings

Aren’t these just too cute? They are a great gift idea for a co-op science teacher or any girl scientist you know to show off their love of science with a fashionable flair. They also have atoms, beakers, and DNA strands.

I have gift ideas for homeschool mom cooking. Sometimes us homeschool moms need a cooking reboot.

You know just a nudge of something pretty and practical helps make the everyday chore a bit more enjoyable.

When we moved overseas, I got rid of everything in my kitchen except some things I had when I first got married. You know just a nudge of something pretty and practical.

It was kind of sad on one hand but on the other, restocking my kitchen with items that I now love to use has been one of the best things after moving back.

High School Graduation Gift Day 8 of 10 days Planning a Homeschool Graduation

March 4, 2023 | 2 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today is Day 8 high school graduation gift ideas for the updated 10 days series for planning a homeschool graduation. Also, look at more ideas on my how to homeschool high school page.

I love thinking up gift ideas for a high school graduate, but sometimes it is not so easy.  I believe in ideas that fit a variety of budgets.

Too, sometimes it depends on your relationship to the graduate and his or her personality too.

High School Graduation Gift Day 8 of 10 days Planning a Homeschool Graduation

My boys are more close to those that have been in our homeschool group that they see on a regular basis than even some of their cousins.

Day 8 Gift Ideas for Homeschool Seniors @ Tinas Dynamic Homeschool Plus

Whatever the budget, I know I was asked quite a bit what Mr. Senior 2013 wanted and it can be quite awkward to answer, but people really want to know.

High School Graduation Gift Ideas

Our close friends know that he likes things like classical music, techie things (don’t most kids) and loves books.

So I decided to make a list with both inexpensive, but thoughtful gifts and ones that cost a bit more if you are closer to the graduate.

Day 8. Highschool Graduation Gifts @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

1. Cold Hard Cash.

I think cash still tops the charts for grads of any age. We put a pretty decorated box on the gift table for those with a card and cash.

2. Amazon E- Gift Cards.

Whether I live by the grad or not, an Amazon e-gift card can be sent and personalized to suit your style.

It’s still acceptable to send one even to a close friend and I’ve not met a teen yet that does not love receiving one. No gift wrapping involved.

3. Jewelry.

Whether you want to buy a birthstone piece, a vintage item, or new modern piece most teens love a beautiful piece of jewelry.

For example beautiful pearl piece is timeless. And one of my sons got a bracelet similar to this bracelet which he loves.

4. Beats Wireless Buds

Beat air buds are timeless and have changed through the years.

But all my kids grad and post grad love them and it’s a perfect gift that is both practical and loved by teens.

Mr. Senior 2013 got the red set of these elite earbuds from his uncle.  He had been swooning over them for a while.  So it makes a great gift for either boy or girl because they come in a lot of colors.

5. Travel Bag/Luggage for all those exotic places (like college).

Travel Bag – For An On The Go Graduate  My sister got Mr. Senior 2013 a beautiful leather back pack.

She knew we were moving to South America, plus he will be doing some traveling to New York to work on a volunteer building project.

Now,  he has a beautiful leather bag to take with him.

I think this always makes the best practical gift whether the graduate is going to college or traveling, they will need something like this.

6. Unique Photo Album

This idea came from one of the ladies in my facebook group, but she said get a photo album.

And once a week put a $5, $10, $20 (whatever you can afford) into a slot along with a picture of your child and a little note with something you did together during the week.

You can start this whenever. By the time your child reaches graduation he’ll have a gift worth over $10,000 and years of memories. 🖤 Instead of storing the actual cash in the album I realized it’d be a lot safer to put into some sort of account. Therefore you can stick the deposit slips in the bottom slot all while gaining interest.

7. Nintendo Switch

My kids still love their Nintendo Switch games and it’s a fun whimsical gift that teens still love.

8. Cast Iron Pans to last a lifetime.

Most of value life skills and if you’re teen is moving away or even staying in the house for a while, nothing beats a beautiful set of timeless cast iron pans.

My grandmother was a practical person and gave me my first set which I still have. I value it way more now than I did then but what a beautiful treasure keep.

9. 100 THINGS TO DO AFTER I GRADUATE Journal

Next, this is a fun gift. A bucket full of adventures.

10. Q and A a Day: 5-Year Journal

Love this. Q and A a Day: 5-Year Journal I fell in love with this gift and have been eyeballing it for the next gift when something comes up.  It is a 5 year journal.

5 Year journal @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

But it is so cool because all 5 years are on the same page.

You can reflect back and see what has been going on the last 5 years.  Isn’t that so cool?

Just enough lines to write without being too exhaustive to maintain.  This would be good for the writer too or for your kids first few years away from you.

I think of course one of the best gifts are a few Andrew Jacksons.

Any kid would love a few extra 20 dollar bills.

High School Graduation Ring from Grandparents @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

But the best gifts have to be from grandma and grandpa.

You know I told you Mr. Senior 2013 didn’t want a graduation ring, so my parents just got him a regular, but beautiful gold ring.

High School Graduation Ring from Grandma 2 @ Tina's Dynamic Homeschool Plus

One that he truly will use throughout his life and not take off later or put in the bottom of his drawer.  I love that idea.

High School Graduation Gift Day 8 of 10 days Planning a Homeschool Graduation

Did you get some ideas for when the time comes to buy a high school graduation gift? What do you normally buy?

13 Amazing and Fun Gifts for Kids Who Love History

August 11, 2022 | 3 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today, I have thirteen amazing ideas for fun gifts for kids who love history. Whether you’re looking for one to go with ancient civilizations or current history, you’ll love these gift ideas.

Do you have a child or adult in your life who can’t get enough history in their life? Maybe it’s you?

Whether it be ancient history, modern history, world or local, you’re sure to find an idea on this list.

I have curated a list of 13 history related items for you to make gift giving to your favorite historian a little bit easier.

13 Amazing and Fun Gifts for Kids Who Love History

Too, if you have a hands-on learner, then history games, stories, and even old letters bring history to life.

Besides gifts, you can use these ideas in your every day homeschool.

History Gifts for Kids

Before I had hands-on learners, I used only worksheets to learn about history.

However, I quickly learned that my kids were not remembering what we were learning.

So, not only did I switch my curriculum to Story of the World starting in first grade, I also added in history games.

For example, I added in Professor Noggin’s Ancient Civilizations Trivia Card Game.

It was my first time using games to learn history.

13 Amazing and Fun Gifts for Kids Who Love History

Little did I know then that one game could create a lifelong love for history.

Since then I’ve been adding history gifts for my kids to feed their love for learning.

So, I know you’ll find an idea or two here for your kids or for the history lover in your life.

Other Fun History Resources

  • Gifts For Kids Who Are Wild About History
  • 13 Free Printable History Board Games
  • How to Use a History Spine to Build Your Study of History
  • 50 Free History Unit Studies–History Lover’s Round Up

Add these to your first of the year homeschool supply list.

13 Gifts for History Buffs

You'll love these ideas for a history lover of any age. Add them in your curriculum too.

Encyclopedia of World History

Colorful and full of information this has been a staple for history reference in our homeschool but it makes a great gift for any kid that loves delving into the past!

You can find info on the first humans, dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt, the Aztec Empire, the First World War, Medieval times, and a whole lot more.

Tea Sampler, 6 Assorted Loose Leaf Teas, American History Set with all the Teas Thrown in the Boston Harbor in 1773

I love a hot cup of tea with honey and think the fact that these 6 loose leaf teas that come in pretty tins were actually researched and are teas that were found to have been dumped into the Boston Harbor in 1773.

They make a thoughtful gift that will be enjoyed for its historical reference and its delicious flavor and aroma as well. Pair with a historically patterned tea cup and you have an amazing and winning gift.

The #1 Historic Mail Gift

If you or your favorite history buff are like me and miss getting real mail, besides bills, this subscription letter service makes opening the mailbox a lot more fun-at least once a week.

You can opt for 3 months, 6 months, or a full year of it. They cover historical events from 1600 to 1960, everything from presidents to voting rights, the Civil War to American Expansion.

They are real letters, written by a variety of famous historical figures and some eyewitnesses to histories greatest events on beautiful parchment paper or fine cotton paper. I love a gift that keeps on giving and doesn’t end right after its opened.

History of the World

If your history person loves history and board games this gift was tailor made for them.

It covers from the start of civilization right up the 20th century.

Use strategy, cunning, and your civilizations best attributes to defeat the opponent.

I would recommend this for adults or older precocious teenage history lovers as the rules are bit harder to master then some games. My teen loves complicated role playing games so I know he could handle this one and it is definitely on our gameschooling wish list!

Documents of Freedom Bundle. Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

These replicas of historical documents make a great framed gift to adorn office walls, hallways, homeschool spaces, or living rooms. Place them in a pretty wooden frame to protect and enhance the display and they make a great gift for anyone.

This set is less than $15 and includes the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

We are studying Government this year in our homeschool and I just ordered a set and some frames to hang them in our homeschool space ( the living room).

Don't Make Me Repeat Myself. - History Teacher/Student Cup

As an avid coffee drinker and a history loving homeschool mom this one appeals to me on several levels- practicality, history reference, and funny mom humor.

Gift it on its own or add it to the Boston Tea Party bundle above and tickle someone's historical funny bone and warm their heart!

History of the World in 1,000 Objects

I am always a big fan of DK books and of course anything from the Smithsonian is going to be chock full of great artifacts with amazing photos and loads of information.

It covers from 20,000 BC to present times and highlights well known and not so well known pieces from history.

Great coffee table book for your home and makes an inviting read for your homeschooler!

Around the World TOOB, 10 Figurines

Now for the much younger historians in your life. These have been a favorite in my household for years. Since Pre K days we have used them in sensory bins and dramatic play.

I have used them when strewing and learning about a particular topic, and they have been wonderful additions to dioramas and even in fairy gardens with a historical theme.

We have created our own board games using the figurines from everything from the civil war theme to the wild west.

Wild West TOOB - 11 Hand Painted Toy Figurines

Give these wild west hands on figures for any modern unit study.

Knights & Dragons Toob Hand Painted Toy Miniature Figurines

What kind doesn't love to learn about dragons ? They'll love this fun kit.

White Mountain American History - Jigsaw Puzzle

There is just something so relaxing about working alone or with company on a jigsaw puzzle spread across the table.

I know for me jigsaw puzzles are even better if they are geared to something you are interested in.

Grab this American History themed one to gift on its own or pair it with a coffee mug or tea cup to enjoy while putting it together.

Children's War. World War 2 Replica Memorabilia Pack.

What better way to learn about World War II than a hands-on history pack.

Timeline Inventions Card Game Fun Educational Trivia

FAMILY TRIVIA GAME: Was the light bulb invented before or after glasses? In Timeline Inventions, you can learn the answer to this question and many more all while having fun! Each card has a different invention and on the opposite side of the card is the date it was invented. It's up to you to figure out when each even takes place

FUN EDUCATIONAL GAME: Players start with one randomly drawn card in the middle of the table to form the timeline. On your turn, you place a card before or after it depending on when you think this happened. Leave the card in place if you are correct or discard it and draw a new one if you’re wrong. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins
