And in this one download you get both colors schemes.

Beautiful Free Printable Yearly Calendar 2026 - 2027

In addition, as I mentioned I prepare 3 types of calendars and you want one of each type in your planner.

The calendar today is a simple academic calendar to give you a visual of the school year at a glance.

Too, it is a 12 month calendar to help you if you school year round or begin with the month you start your year.

The months begin JULY and end in JUNE each year.

Since you have all 12 months on one page, you can use it regardless of when your school starts.

Too, I love color and variety for my printable planner. Both are essential to keep me motivated throughout the year.

I’m showing you how to make a handprint fun fireworks craft with your littles.  And look at my page How to Homeschool Preschool for more ideas.

Simple crafts often become the one kids remember most. A firecracker handprint craft let kids turn their own hands into art.

If your child has not seen fireworks, then use a picture book to show how varied they are. Your child can use glitter and colors they like to encourage freedom of creativity.

How To Make A Handprint Fireworks Craft & Free Template

Too, this handprint firecracker is a fun project to celebrate the end of the year, for a memorable keepsake, or to do with a unit study about the basics of chemistry.

Additionally, you can included your older learners in this craft by discussing what is the difference between firecrackers and fireworks.

Learning about fireworks and firecrackers are great topics to teach older children because you can include topics like science, history and responsible behavior.

BOOKS ABOUT FIRECRACKERS AND FIREWORKS FOR KIDS

Next, you can include your older children with this study of firecrackers and fireworks by looking at their history.

Use one of these books.

Books About Fireworks and Firecrackers

Add some fun and science to your day with these books about firecrackers and fireworks.

FIREWORKS

Get ready for a dazzling visual experience with FIREWORKS — a stunning collection of 100 high-quality images capturing the magic, sparkle, and thrill of fireworks exploding in the night sky.

From golden glimmers to colorful bursts, this book is perfect for anyone who loves celebrations, lights, and eye-popping visuals. Great for both kids and adults, it's an excellent addition to your coffee table, gift list, or bedtime collection.

Chemistry of Fireworks (Rsc Paperbacks)

"For centuries fireworks have been a source of delight and amazement in cultures around the world. But what produces their dazzling array of effects? This book takes you behind the scenes to explore the chemistry and physics behind the art of pyrotechnics. Topics covered include history and characteristics of gunpowder; principles behind each of the most popular firework types: rockets, shells, fountains, sparklers, bangers, roman candles and wheels; special effects, including sound effects, coloured smokes and electrical firing; firework safety for private use and displays; and firework legislation. The Chemistry of Fireworks is aimed at students with A level qualifications or equivalent. The style is concise and easy to understand, and the theory of fireworks is discussed in terms of well-known scientific concepts wherever possible.

Image for Firecrackers: The Art and History

Firecrackers: The Art and History

Universally popular, uncommonly loud, a pyrotechnic spectacle that inspires laughter, delight and a healthy dose of frayed nerves—what else but the firecracker! These little sticks of paper and powder have captured the imagination of cultures the world over since the Chinese invented them centuries ago. As practical, chemical developments in firecracker production proceeded apace, the popular art form of label design flourished, leaving us with a remarkable visual record of the myths and cultural attitudes of the Chinese manufacturers and their markets. FIRECRACKERS explores the art form in detail, linking it to history and exploring its relevance in the various cultures that ceremonialize this peculiar bang. Includes reproductions of over 100 full-color labels, as well as tips on finding and saving firecracker art.

Besides, fireworks work because of chemistry and physics.

For example, go over where the colors from. Red comes from strontium, blue comes from copper, green comes from barium and yellow comes from sodium.

And research the history of fireworks. Fireworks were invented over 1,000 years ago in China.

2026 New Year Homeschool Goals FREE Printable (Get it Together Girl)

I have a 2026 new year homeschool goals free printable. Grab other gorgeous planning pages on my Homeschool Planner and 7 Step Curriculum Planner page.

This new year goal printable is one I love especially because it reminds me to keep goal setting simple. And to not fill in so many goals that I can’t reach them.

One of the best parts I like about the form is to remind myself to have Less of This.

2026 New Year Homeschool Goals FREE Printable (Get it Together Girl)

You can grab this form by adding your email at the bottom and instantly downloading it.

Sometimes, I have more broad goals and not something that fits into exact educational objectives. I just like having the options each year.

Too, sometimes I tend to write down all that I want to do and have few reminders of what not to do for the year.

So the section I call “less of this” is just as important to me as I want to keep setting realistic goals each year.

Asia is a very diverse continent and an Asia lapbook is a fun way to tie many subjects together. For example, for geography focus on the different regions like East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.

Too, covering major and famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Petra, and Angkor Wat make both for a study of history and geography.

Next, children love learning about the fauna in different continents. For example, focus on learning about pandas, tigers, snow leopards, camels and Komodo dragons.

And although we don’t do this with every unit study and lapbook we do, we love to incorporate cooking and learning about the food in various countries.

For instance, try Sushi, dumplings, pho, ramen and sticky rice.

I look for living books then add reference books. Use one of these as a spine to accompany the lapbook.

She does a good deed for the raja, and in return the raja lets her choose her reward. Rani asks for just one grain of rice, doubled every day for thirty days. Through the surprising power of doubling, one grain of rice grows into more than one billion grains of rice - and Rani teaches the raja a lesson about what it truly means to be wise and fair.Demi's exquisitely detailed art, inspired by traditional Indian miniature paintings, combine with her simple retelling to convey the heart and wisdom of this satisfying mathematical tale.

Awesome Features Of Critical Thinking & Free Elementary Inference Cards

December 12, 2025 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

How to teach your child the features of critical thinking can be done through natural conversations and interactions. Also, look at my page How To Homeschool Elementary Students Like A Pro.

Too, I have free Think It Through inference booster cards which are perfect for grades 3 to 6. You can grab it below when you enter your email.

But what is critical thinking? How can you explain it to your child? A simple definition works best.

Awesome Features Of Critical Thinking & Free Elementary Inference Cards

For example, you can tell your child that critical thinking means asking good questions based on information. And it means to look below the surface or the obvious to see what makes sense.

During the elementary years is the perfect time to nurture the questions your child has. Welcome questions from your child no matter how strange they may seem.

In addition, keep tools and games handy logic puzzles, books, science kits, maps, story discussion cards and tools to build with. For instance, LEGO and simple machine kits are fun hands-on activities.

HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM CRITICAL THINKING

Next, look at some laid out curriculum which helps you with specific tips if you want laid out or are struggling with getting your child on board.

7 Critical Thinking Homeschool Curriculum

In homeschool, a critical thinking curriculum can be a standalone, a specific course or workbook just for logic or reasoning. Or it can be integrated into other subjects like history or science.

Image for The Art of Argument Revised Edition Teacher's Edition

The Art of Argument Revised Edition Teacher's Edition

Revised for the twentieth anniversary of its original release, the award-winning The Art of Argument is a robust, delightful, and creative text designed to introduce students as young as 7th grade to the foundations of logic and critical thinking.

The Art of Argument will impart to students the skills they need to craft accurate statements and identify the flawed arguments found so frequently in commercials, articles, books, movies, songs, TV shows, everyday discussions, and other media. This revised edition features enhanced explanations, numerous examples of each fallacy, an updated design, and a taxonomic visual guide to the informal fallacies.

This teacher’s edition provides the entire student text as well as robust resources, including additional explanations, supplemental resources and examples, pedagogical suggestions, alerts for common student pitfalls, answers to chapter exercises, and chapter and unit tests with their respective answer keys.

The Basics of Critical Thinking Workbook - Lessons and Activities (Grades 4-9)

This engaging, colorful 152-page book for grades 4-9 (ages 9-15) teaches the most important critical thinking concepts every student should know. Many workbooks claim to teach or develop critical thinking skills, but most of these products never define critical thinking or try to teach the meaning to students. This book defines and teaches critical thinking in a way all students can understand through simple explanations, diagrams, and short, engaging activities. In addition to being a course in critical thinking, the activities in this book can be used to supplement lessons in all subjects.Although this book teaches common argument forms, its primary focus is identifying and evaluating evidence–the very basis of critical thinking. Most propaganda, advertising schemes, legal trickery, and bad science are not the result of complex arguments; they are the result of half-truths and simple arguments. Students who successfully complete this book will have a fundamental set of critical thinking skills they can use their entire lives.

Image for Traditional Logic 1 Set

Traditional Logic 1 Set

A logic course for all ages but designed for use as young as 7th grade, Traditional Logic is an in-depth study of the classical syllogism. Along with a basic understanding of the Christian theory of knowledge, the text presents the four kinds of logical statements, the four ways propositions can be opposed, the three ways which they can be equivalent, and the seven rules for the validity of syllogisms. Each chapter explains challenging concepts in clear, concise language.

Image for Grammar Island Student Book: Third Edition

Grammar Island Student Book: Third Edition

Grammar Island introduces, in a simple fashion, the full four-level grammar analysis of (1) parts of speech, (2) parts of the sentence, (3) phrases, and (4) clauses. Using color to reinforce the lessons, the book offers grammar in child-friendly ways, with an array of strategies to make sophisticated material dynamic and fun. Each page focuses on a single concept, and the teaching approach is to read together with the students, talk about the concepts, ask questions, refer back to the text, and respond to questions before venturing further. This book will delight children just beginning grammar.

Image for Art of Argument: An Introduction to the Informal Fallacies **Revised Edition**

Art of Argument: An Introduction to the Informal Fallacies **Revised Edition**

Middle and high school students will argue (and sometimes quarrel), but they won’t argue well without good training. Students who complete The Art of Argument will learn how to reason with clarity, relevance, and purpose . . . and will have fun along the way! Informal logic is a foundational subject by which other subjects are evaluated, assessed, and learned. Therefore, students' study and mastery of the 28 logical fallacies will provide an essential lifetime framework for filtering good and bad reasoning as well as writing and speaking effectively.
