When possible, I always like to give a couple of color choices for most all of my forms. Who doesn’t like choices?  So today, I have a second color choice for the 2015 Year Around Homeschool Planning Schedule.

Here are some of the ways you can use this form:

  • This form works if you live in a country where your school year begins with the physical year.
  • This forms works if you prefer to follow the physical year instead of the school year.  By the way, I did this for many years and I loved it.  I wouldn’t have all the school hype for changing grade levels during a busy time and it seemed prices were cheaper too on some curriculum during mid-winterish.
  • This forms works if you pull your children out mid-school year and want to start planning.

Sometimes you know you just need a do-over too.  So many times, I have used this form if my academic year got off to an unplanned rocky start and I wanted a do-over.  We can do that you know in homeschool.

Back Cover Curriculum Planner

Because I take my time creating my curriculum planner printables for my 7 Step Homeschool Planner, I find inspiration at anytime.  So today, for the back cover curriculum planner, I was so stoked when I was reminded of the saying that “One Mother Teaches More than a Hundred Teachers” that I created another option choice for the back cover.

That is such a powerful statement that I felt like it deserved it’s own page. 

Don’t underestimate the influence and power you have today over changing your children’s future.  And a gentle but power packed reminder each day, will hopefully keep us both pumped up for the days when we wonder why we are homeschooling.

I’m in a pinkish, purplish and turquoise-y (my new word) kind of elegant mood today.  Too, since I never strive to have all my pages matching because I always want you to have a unique planner and not one huge boring matching conundrum, I hope you like the color choice. 

You never know when the inspiration strikes and I will have to create more options.

Yikes! I have been in a panic mode since it has been full speed ahead for moving out of our home.  So knowing that I will be traveling soon, I went ahead and prepared the 2015 Year Around Homeschool Planning Schedule form.

Remember this is NOT a calendar.  Okay, well it is, but it isn’t.  Just calendars are kept on STEP 2. Choose Calendars/Appointment Keepers.

This is a planning form.  There is a fine difference.  A calendar is for a reference and a planning schedule is for planning school noting important things that come up in your life which will affect your school.

Since year around homeschooling is an option and it is about planning too, these types of forms are kept on STEP 5a. Choose Unique forms JUST for You!

Forms on Step 2, which are calendars, are a must-have for your planner but the forms on Step 5 are option forms.  This fine difference between the two steps or calendars helps you to stay organized as I always want you to have control over how you put your planner together.

Also, just to remind you of the uses of this form because I have new faces following me, look at these options:

Updated Homeschool Attendance Forms

Thank You! I have said it before that the best ideas for updating forms come from you because like me, you want to make them flexible enough for your family too.

Today, I have two updated homeschool attendance forms and I am so excited about them.  I have been wanting to add a bit more flexibility to them but I like to take my time when I update my curriculum planner forms because I want them to work for more than just a few homeschoolers too.

I want to Thank Kathy for this comment because as soon as I had time, I updated the attendance form.

I LOVE your sheets and ideas. I’ve been following you for two years now.

I noticed in Leeanna’s comment she starts her tracking in May for Ga. The group I’m with in SC starts in June. I was wondering would it be possible to have an attendance chart in the trimesters with blank months. That way we can put down what works for our needs.
In addition, have some extra room for other letter codes ~ ie : The S = sick, H = Holiday, F = Field Trip area.
We don’t have music day, art day, it blends into our days. I had to white out those things and fill in what we did. V = volunteering, L= Lab, T = Latin, and such.
It may help others in the future.

Below I created a new graphic explaining the two options and it will eventually be going on the STEP 5  Unique Forms page.

Of course, my love for color has grown since my original Attendance Forms and those forms were in need of some color luv.  The Attendance Forms were some of my first forms where I started adding a bit of color not knowing if you would like it or not.  I had just started to move away from creating only black and white copies.

I now know you love all the color collages as much as I do.

Here are a few details about the updated forms:

  • I have 2 options.
  • Both forms have a place for 4 children.  It is not that I have a fondness for the number four (tee hee hee) but that number of columns fits nicely on one page.
  • Both forms have an expanded Key Area. I added a few more codes too AND I created a few blank lines for codes that may be unique for your family and that you need to track.  You just write them in each year.
  • To allow room for the extra key code area because I was already at the bottom of the page, both forms had to be bumped up a bit.  It doesn’t affect binding or anything, I just wanted you to know that height wise it will be a bit taller than the rest of the forms in your planner.  I know, a small detail but those things matter when I create forms.
  • The biggest difference between the forms is that one has a blank area to fill in the month you begin school AND to fill in your semesters.   This allows for a lot more flexibility whether you begin tracking in May, June or July.  The other form follows all the rest of the forms on my 7 Step Homeschool Planner, which run from July to June (academic year) and allow for year around homeschooling.  On this form, the semesters are already filled in too.

This one above you add in the months when you begin to homeschool and write in the semesters.

This form matches the rest of my forms that begin on July and go through June for year around homeschooling and it has the months and semesters filled in already.

2015 Physical Year Calendar –2 Pages Per Month At A Glance

Getting started earlier this year with my curriculum planner pages, I am tickled to be able to offer the first option for the 2015 Physical Year Calendar – 2 Pages Per Month at a Glance Appointment Keepers.  I know this is one wonky long name, but it really helps to describe how best to use it.

It’s a calendar, right? How else do you use it?  Well something like that except with it being a 2 page spread, it gives you a ton more room to write.  Too, the month of January {whether it’s my academic calendars or physical year calendars} has a special box on that page only so that you note when you begin to school and when you end your school year.

You know me and my name calling.  I called this set of calendar pages Dreaming.

I also have a bigger picture below so you can see what one 2 page spread looks like.  I need to see big pictures because I am such a visual person.

Each month has a different color for the month name and on the note section, I kept the background white and bright this time.  I did add another section to this year and that is the top right section, which is a task list.

Separating that from the bottom section which is more of a to do list for the month, it helps to divide priorities.  I tend to keep a running lists for tasks whether they are due that month or not.  And my to do for the month at the bottom is just that, things that need to get done by that particular month.  I think the reason I put that list at the bottom is that I am hoping it will go away too. {ha ha}

Whether you want to add an academic school year that runs from July to June {find them here on STEP 2. Option 2} or this physical year calendar for 2015 or you’re obsessed going to use both like me, you decide what works for your unique planner.

This past year I started using two calendars and I think I liked it.  I used one for things I wanted to fill in about our school day {academic school calendar} or my thoughts about what we did for the day and the other one I used more for family appointments.  You certainly don’t have to do this, but it was nice having two different sets.  I used the academic school year calendar more like a journal and keeping up with what we did, penned in some funny moments, brainstorming and things like that.

I didn’t put appointments on both sets.  I just them on the one I used for our family calendar so I would have one place to look at for appointments.  This may or may not work for you.  Again the planner is your baby to decide what works best for you.  I just like options and trying different combinations each year.

I change too each year depending on my mood, but I really like the way that worked out last year.
