Homeschool Planner Supplies – Organizational Eye Candy Because Paper Planners ROCK!

October 13, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I get ask a lot about the type of homeschool planner supplies I use and like for all of my homeschool planners.

So today, I wanted to share homeschool planner supplies or some organizational eye candy because paper planners still ROCK!

Come what may in the digital age, there is no substitute when you add your own words freestyle to your planners along with all those fun and smokin’ hot accessories.

Homeschool Planner Supplies - Organizational Eye Candy Because Paper Planners ROCK!

Though this isn’t a comprehensive list of all the things I swoon over, it will give you an idea of some of the things I have used and luv.

Homeschool Planners Rock

When I stumbled across the things on Poppin I almost passed out.

I did pull the trigger and buy the pocket dividers (1). I also have the fun pencils by Anthropologie  (4).

I love using washi tape on my planner too like a post it note. And I swing back and forth between pastel colors (2) and then ones like these green and blue color scheme that I have my eye on.

It’s the same way with highlighters.

pencils

My favorite for many years has been the highlighter pencils by Anthropologie, but they don’t sell them anymore.

So I have been using the pilot pastel ones (6) which I love and then again because I like to highlight my Bible and other pages in my planner, I love wooden highlighters and have been thinking about pulling the trigger on these beautiful wooden ones.

I love the wooden ones because normally they don’t bleed through the page.

Planner Supplies

I also got these fun retractable highlighters this year.

I admit, I am addicted to them but I always seem to use them. Do you highlight books you read? I do.

Instead of focusing on reselling them, I focus on remembering what I read and I normally do better retaining it when I use a highlighter color code system. Do you do that? I hope I am not the only weird one that does that. I use bright orange for a point that is new or that I want to commit to memory and yellow is just my normal find-that-an-interesting-point color.

Then don’t even get me talking pens. I love most pens that pop with color and Zebra brand is one of my very favorites too.

I picked these up when I was back in the states recently.
And then I know these are craft pens but when I want to write with a finer point or box text, I love the Martha Stewart craft pens. They are a little pricey, but I have taken care of mine and they have lasted quite a few years.

Then for years, I have always loved the flag stickers by Semikolon (5) just because they have some hot colors but I do mix and match with washi tapes and less expensive flags too.

Those are just a few of the things that make my heart go pitter patter when I am using any of my planners. Do you have any favorites?

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

August 15, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today I have a homeschool planner stickers back to school craft. Whether you do this craft for your homeschool planner or do it as part of your homeschool year, it’s fun.

You can have your children prepare their homeschool planner stickers back to school craft as a first day activity.

There are two ways to create your own homeschool planner stickers for your planners, notebooks, and wherever else you want to put them.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

First, you or your child can draw them using some fun pens and markers to get a nice watercolor look.

Second, I’m showing you a simple tutorial for creating stickers using free clipart if you prefer not to draw them.

Also, I have a ready made sheet for you which has some basic stickers you can use to dress up your planners or notebooks.

The stickers are perfect for adding color and reminders for things like library trips and co-op meetings.

Choosing the Best Sticker Paper

Before we get started though a quick overview about paper type is needed.

There are several types of sticker paper to choose from and you want to be sure to pick the one that fits best with your intended use.

Look at these different sticker paper types.

Matte Sticker Paper. This is inexpensive and works perfectly for planners and things that won’t get wet or be exposed to much use.

This type of paper is also a better choice if you are going to hand draw your own stickers.

This is what I used for both the hand drawn and printable stickers I’m sharing today..

Second is the Clear Vinyl Sticker Paper.

It’s just a bit more expensive, but these are nice if you want to print stickers and not have the white border around them.

Last is the Waterproof Vinyl Sticker Paper.

It is the cadillac of sticker papers.

This is the type of paper you use if you want waterproof stickers to put on things like water bottles.

I love these and we had so much fun creating them.

Doing a quick google search for watercolor school clip art gave us some great ideas for our stickers.

How to Make Hand Drawn Planner Stickers

One of the best tools to making your own hand drawn stickers are fine line pens.

They give a nice crisp outline for drawing.

They are fantastic to use in your planner or other writing even if you don’t consider yourself an artist. Using these will take your art to a new level.

Next, double ended alcohol markers give your stickers that hand drawn artist look.

Also, the markers give a very saturated water color look when using the brush tip.

Now, look below to look at some of these sticker supplies.

Supplies For Hand Drawn Stickers

You will need:

  • sticker paper
  • fine line pens
  • alcohol markers
  • Scissors or Paper Trimmer
Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

Use a fine line pen to draw a basic shape, a globe, beaker, apple, whatever you need.

Here you can see how much better of an outline I get with the fine line versus a regular marker with a small tip.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

Fill them in with the brush tip of the alcohol marker.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

Add labels to identify activities to them if you like, such as co-op, library, science labs, etc.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

You can either cut them out around the outline or line them up in rows and use a paper slicer to cut them out in squares.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

If you want to just use clip art for your stickers, follow these directions below.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

How to Make Clip Art Planner Stickers

Here is the easy list of supplies.

  • Sticker Paper
  • Computer and Printer
  • Scissors or Paper Cutter

Open your word processing program and choose insert from the menu.

From the drop down choose Insert then Image.

And either upload from the computer (if you already have clip art downloaded you would like to use), or search the web.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

In the search bar type in keywords you would like to find, either broad like school, homeschool, office, etc. or specific like paint, computer, and so on.

This will bring up clip art right in your side bar like this.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

Double click the image you like to insert it on the page.

Resize it and move to the upper left corner.

Copy and paste the image to make as many as you like. Repeat with all images you want to use.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

If you want to add words to your stickers go ahead and type directly under each picture before you drop to the next line to insert another row.

Fill your page with stickers, you don’t want to waste space or your sticker paper.

Free and Fun Homeschool Planner Stickers Back To School Craft

Print on to your chosen sticker paper. Then cut out by hand or slice with the paper cutter if you made your stickers in neat little rows with spacing between.

Now you can make all the planner pages you get here truly YOURS by adding special stickers.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

August 3, 2022 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I have three free high school planner cover designs for your teens. Whether your teen is building his own homeschool planner, diy student planner or just wants checklists, you’ll love these choices. Check out my how to homeschool high school page for awesome tips.

These brand new homeschool high school planner covers come in three different color choices.

And if your teen is building his or her own planner, these covers would be the first step to build their planner.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

In addition, I have 12 free homeschool high school planner covers on the DIY Best Student Planner pages for more choices..

Too, these mew homeschool student cover pages are full color like most all of my planner pages.

Plus, when your teens have their own planner it encourages them to learn how to manage time.

How to Use the High School Planner Covers

For example, when you don’t buy a full put together student planner, your teen has choices for each section.

Individualizing a planner is not only something we love to do, but our teen too.

Some teens prefer to only include lesson planning pages.

Other teens include time management sections and tips, goals, or even journal pages.

By planning and printing exactly the pages you want your teen will be more motivated to use it.

Also, printing these high school planner covers do not really require any special printer.

I have used the Canon PIXMA TR150 Wireless Mobile Printer for years and love it.

It’s not the most expensive and doesn’t have tons of bells and whistles.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

But I like to put together my planner slowly.

So I used an inexpensive printer and take my time.

Other Homeschool Planner Sections to Add

Furthermore, look at some of these options that can make your teen’s homeschool planner unique.-

Add a two page month calendar. Not all teens plan everything on their phone. Some prefer to jot down appointments.

Too, teens may prefer to use their own lesson planning pages.

I have some unique ones which helps them to track time by 15 minutes increments.

In addition, add some growth mindset pages or pages to help plan for college or a career.

Even fun growth mindset coloring pages are a whimsical add if you have a creative teen who loves to color still.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

Look at these different color combinations.

The first cover above is blue, the second one has a bit of a floral touch and the last one is a gorgeous green.

3 Free High School Planner Cover Designs

Just remember that my pages are not created to print black and white but that is your choice.

Other Planner Forms for Your Teen

Not only can your teen use my calendars in his or her planner, but any of my forms which help your teens to manage their day.

  • Choose Goals and Objectives Forms
  • Choose lesson planning pages for teens or choose from my editable lesson planning pages.
