I have the 2026-2027 yearly homeschool schedule free planning forms. And I have two color choices. Grab other gorgeous planning pages on my Homeschool Planner and 7 Step Curriculum Planner page.

Between lesson planning, field trips, activities, appointments, and everyday life, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

However, this homeschool planning your schedule is not just a calendar. It is a form to both plan and track your schedule.

School Year 2026-2027 Yearly Homeschool Schedule Free Form

Besides, when you create a well thought out schedule you are more effective in your teaching.

Instead of being rigid, a schedule frees your mind of stress.

Next, look at these ways you benefit.

7 REASONS TO PLAN YOUR HOMESCHOOL SCHEDULE

Because the word schedule can have negative overtones, I will give you reasons why my schedule breathes life into our routine.

Look at these 7 reasons to have a homeschool planning schedule.

  1. It can serve as a checklist of subjects which are priority for your day.
  2. Communication is enhanced between you and your children. Yes, we can frustrate our children when we don’t have a direction for the day, week, or year.
  3. One of the most basic reasons I plan is to set goals. It helps me to track progress for the day and keeps us focused. We love rabbit trails and take them but also, we need structure to flow for our days.
  4. In addition, I run from stress. Having a schedule keeps me from racing at the last minute to put a plan in place.
  5. And don’t we all love to study just what we love? We do too but we need to cover other subjects less liked. It lets me see I’m not overlooking any areas or subjects that I want covered.
  6. Creating a schedule to meet my children’s learning personality and learning styles. The schedule is more personalized because I have taken time to think how I will present subjects.
  7. Finally, I hate scrambling at the last minute to grab supplies for an activity or project we want to do. Planning ahead of time I’m sure to have all the important items in the house.

Next, look at my sample homeschool schedule, so you know how to get the best benefit from it.

HOW TO USE THE PLANNING YOUR HOMESCHOOL SCHEDULE FORM

I have shown you a sample schedule below.

School Year 2026-2027 Yearly Homeschool Schedule Free Form

And although my sample shows an academic year calendar for the schedules I make each year beginning July and ending June, it’s the same tips.

Here are some features and sections it has.

  • 12 months on one page so if you school year round, you can still track;
  • is a calendar where highlight weeks you plan to homeschool and mark out weeks you take off;
  • is used to track each day and total weeks by writing down; and

It has a comprehensive key box at the bottom of the form for you to note things like first day of school, holidays, quarters, and goals for days and weeks to homeschool.

Today, I have two color choices for the free printable yearly calendar 2026-2027 academic year. Grab other gorgeous planning pages on my Homeschool Planner and 7 Step Curriculum Planner page.

I use these calendars as a reference for planning. Remember I prepare 3 different types of calendars every physical and academic year. This is the first set which are for reference purposes.

And in this one download you get both colors schemes.

Beautiful Free Printable Yearly Calendar 2026 - 2027

In addition, as I mentioned I prepare 3 types of calendars and you want one of each type in your planner.

The calendar today is a simple academic calendar to give you a visual of the school year at a glance.

Too, it is a 12 month calendar to help you if you school year round or begin with the month you start your year.

The months begin JULY and end in JUNE each year.

Since you have all 12 months on one page, you can use it regardless of when your school starts.

Too, I love color and variety for my printable planner. Both are essential to keep me motivated throughout the year.

The third type of printable calendars are the 2 page per month appointment keepers which have bigger boxes for writing appointments.

4 REASONS TO USE A HOMESCHOOL YEARLY CALENDAR

Next, look at some reasons you want to use a homeschool yearly calendar.

1. The bird’s eye view lets you quickly look for weeks to take off and weeks to plan your family’s vacation.

2. If you do tests formally or just for review, look ahead and plan them now.

3. Looking constantly at my calendar helps me to remember our year better. I don’t like flipping back/forth between my phone calendar and planner. It’s all in one place.

4. And one of my favorite reasons is to reduce digital distraction.

Then, here is the second color choice you get in this free download.

Free Homeschool Planner Inside Title Page

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I have a homeschool planner free inside title page. Grab other gorgeous planning pages on my Homeschool Planner and 7 Step Curriculum Planner page.

I am love, love, loving the fact that I have decided to spread my curriculum pages for planner printables throughout the year.  When the mood hits me and it hits often, I have to create and make my homeschool planner printables.

Free Homeschool Planner Inside Title Page

Sharing the new printables with you too is one of my favorite things to do because I hope you get as excited as I do.

Because my 7 Step DIY Homeschool Planner has been the product of many, many years to refine the core of it, I feel like now I can add those refining touches as it grows larger with more options.

From the beginning, I never wanted one curriculum planner with all the same pages to share with you knowing that everybody else has the same download.

I love options from year to year and I will continue to add them as I plod along.

CURRICULUM PAGES FOR PLANNER

Today, I have the first printable for an inside title page.  It is one of those refinements or new sections.

I have switched over the years to keeper covers for the homeschool planner which means there are no more dated planner covers.

This allows you more choices to choose from each  year.

Homeschool Planner Inside title page

With that switch though, I know some of you have wanted some place to put the school year and maybe a few notes near the front of your planner.

Some of the homeschool planner covers allows you to edit and fill in the school year and some don’t.

Also, because you may want something between your front cover and where your papers actually start, I have created the first inside title page for this new section of the planner.

I haven’t decided where to place this new section of pages, but I will let you know shortly after I find an organized spot on my blog.

Probably, I will keep them on the same page as the front covers and back covers.  It kind of makes sense to keep them there.

7 STEP DIY HOMESCHOOL PLANNER

The inside title page has a page for you to fill in the current school year and a place for your name.

You can use the lines below that to add other personal information or emergency contact information and/or to add some of your favorite quotes for the year.

I kind of left it generic meaning you may prefer to add other items and I didn’t want to hem you in to what I thought needed to go there.

And like all my forms, the inside title page will eventually have many font choices and colors and here is my first form.

Hope you like it.  I can’t wait to create my planner for next year, but by starting early now and adding the new forms, we will have plenty to select from.

There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle.”

Day 5 Creating Unit Study Objectives 10 Days of Diving Into Unit Studies by Creating a Unit Study Together

August 19, 2025 | 2 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Today is day 5 creating unit study objectives. Also, look at my page Best Homeschool Unit Studies. I’m doing 10 days of diving into unit studies by creating a unit study together.

Head on I want us to tackle another myth or challenge about creating unit studies which is that they are hard to grade and even harder to satisfy educational standards.

That doesn’t have to be the case with unit studies.  But like any creative teaching tool, you need to put measured steps in place.

Day 5 Creating Unit Study Objectives 10 Days of Diving Into Unit Studies by Creating a Unit Study Together

Satisfying the educationalese of a state or country if you live in one that requires stricter record keeping is important.  Even if you don’t live in a state or country that requires strict planning like I do, it is very important to decide what you want to extract from any unit study.  A unit study is only beneficial if it serves your goals or objectives.

If you want to include goals or objectives, then you will want to do them at this point in your planning.

10 DAYS OF CREATING A UNIT STUDY TOGETHER

  • Unit Studies Define & Redefine the Meaning – Day 1
  • Tips For Choosing Unit Study Topics.- Day 2
  • Selecting Superior Sub-Topics. Day 3
  • Finalize Sub-topics – Day 4
  • Creating Unit Study Objectives – Day 5
  • Unit Study Resources that Stir the Imagination – Day 6
  • Unit Study Activity Ideas – Day 7
  • Creating a Unit Study Lesson Plan – Day 8
  • Flow of Our Day with A Unit Study Schedule – Day 9
  • Unit Study Beginnings – Day 10

Exploring Unit Study Goals & Objectives

Goals and objectives are technically or educationally speaking two very different things.  I won’t bombard you with too many educationalese, but it helps to understand a bit about them so you can chart progress.

Objectives are tiny measured steps.  It is hard to boil down about what objectives are to a few sentences, but at the same time I don’t want you to think there isn’t a simple explanation either.

Objectives in the educational world are precise, measurable and specific steps or what you want your children to learn.  Taking this one step further you want a clear objective because lesson plans are based on an objective.   The lesson plan is the explanation of how you are going to accomplish that very specific outcome you described in the objective.

Make sense?

On the other hand, a goal is just a broad sweeping statement about what you are going to study.  It is not about how you are going to do it.  A goal is like a mission statement.

Having a non-public school teacher background helps me to appreciate that I can either set objectives first or like I did with you here, choose the sub-topics first and then create objectives.

The second option may seem probably weird, crazy and far-fetched for a public school teacher who plans normally the other way around.  In other words, standards are in place first.

So they would plan a course description or goal and then jot down specific, measurable objectives to reach those standards.

Unit Study Goals & Objectives

I don’t want to cloud the difference for you.  We have freedom as home educators when it comes to preparing objectives or goals of a unit study.

We can choose child-led learning by focusing on unit study topics and sub-topics and not objectives.

Then, write our goal and objectives.

This is perfectly sane, unique, and creative because you are putting the needs and interest of your family ahead of meeting standards.

If however, you want to write standards for each grade and plan the other way like a public school teacher, it is fine too.

Overall, the nifty tip to being a technical teacher when you have to be and you don’t have a public school teacher background is knowing that a transition into creating objectives can be done by choosing sub-topics first.

Look at my goals and objectives on the Ocean Unit Study that I started below.  I divided my objectives into 2 general grade levels.

My Goal for the Ocean Unit Study

“To provide a learning experience showing the importance of oceans to all life on our planet.”

That’s it! Easy.  I could stop there because it is simple enough.

But, I also want to add in “To marvel at the vastness of the ocean and the creation in it.”

In other words, I want to remember that one of my goals is to build in my sons an appreciation for creation too.

Extracting Unit Study Objectives

Now, look at some of these objectives I came up with.  Remember, the key to creating your objectives is to be very specific and describe what your child is expected to do by the end of the unit.

Lower/Elementary level

  • Students will know the approximate size of the ocean.
  • Identify the oceans of the world.
  • Students will identify some animal and plant life that lives in the ocean.
  • Compare and contrast the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
  • Tell what coral is.

Middle/High School level

  • Using hands-on ideas students will identify how water moves around the world.
  • Build a model showing the tidal zones.
  • Identify the composition of seawater, currents, tides, waves, and marine life.
  • Analyze ways to protect our ocean resources.

This is certainly not all I would want to add, but I wanted you to get a running start in how you could create objectives and be technical if you ever needed to be.

Unit Study Goals and Objectives Sample

I hope I didn’t lose you in all this.  My mind goes to  details of planning and I just wanted to arm you with some technical background in case you have been timid to take the leap into unit studies.

Unit Study Day 5. Creating Unit Study Objectives. 10 Days of Diving Into Unit Studies by Creating a Unit Study Together.

Also, I have created an easy planning page for you when you need it.

Understanding that you can have both goals and objectives while you savor the engaging interactive part of unit studies helps the teacher mom in all of us.

Are you going to create objectives with your unit study? I think we are just about ready to start pulling resources together now.

Free Student Planner Undated Calendar {Girly Girl Set}

August 4, 2024 | 5 Comments
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I have another free student planner undated calendar. Also, look my page DIY Best Student Planner. Also, look at DIY 7 Step Curriculum Planner and my page Homeschool Planner for more forms which easily can be used here.

I love my kids.

I don’t want to sound corny, but I love your kids too and wanted something that would make them excited about using their free student planners.

So today, I am sharing some some free undated calendar-like pages.  I’ll explain about it more in a minute.

Free Student Planner Undated Calendar {Girly Girl Set}

Too, like I mentioned I wanted something for your kids that they would hopefully think is smokin’ hot and would breathe some life into their organizational efforts.

Color and pizzazz do it all the time for me in my curriculum planner and well I want something special for them too.

Just like learning, the organization itch should start early and we should be passing on some of our organizational habits to our kids.

Like us, they want things that are pretty too and so finally, I have one set created as your kids and my kids have been on my mind.

Curriculum Pages for Planner

So this is the first of two sets.

Girls first and I started with a set just for them. Besides, they’re so cute your creative boys may love them too.

And even though I don’t have any girls, though one day far, far, far off in the future, I hope to have the most sweetest daughter-in-laws ever, I know you probably have one or two sweet girls.

With them in mind, I have created the first set of undated calendar-like pages called Girly Girl.

Kids have such unique needs and helping my boys to manage their deadlines and appointments, I have created a set with them in mind.

Oh sure, if you want this for your planner, please use it.

I just created it a little bit different and more whimsical.

4 Tips to Use An Undated Student Planner

Here is how to use it:

  • First, it is undated so that means it can be used year after year. Well maybe what is first is the fact that it is colorful.  Lots and lots of color. You know my obsession with colorful planners.  Too, it starts with July and goes through June just like all my year round homeschooling planning forms do.
  • Then, it has a column to the right of the number to fill in the weekdays for that month.  Let your girls do that because once they start writing in their planner, they can claim ownership.  Just use the first letter or two of the weekday like this: “M” is Monday, “Tu” is Tuesday, and etc.
  • The next section for dates is different than our needs as teachers who plan.  It can be used to track deadlines, dates, or appointments if they have them or to fill in about field trips or things they want to journal.  It is a lot more flexible because sometimes they need more of a to-do list or a space to write about how they feel or about events coming up.  Also, one things that I notice with my boys is that they like to fill in events or journal after they happen.  So they really are not different than us in that respect. They probably have more to say and we as planners, have more things to fill in about upcoming events.  So that is the slight difference and my form reflects that little tweak.
  • So the larger box on the far right is big enough to track their notes for the week.  They can use a check off system by checking the colorful circles or just write down what they need to remember. This type of place allows your child to track his assignments.  As your kids get older, I know you will be assigning long term projects and part of shuffling adult size decisions is learning now to track them and write them down.

Free Student Planner

The calendar-like pages are more like a place to track tasks, notes and a space to keep their own calendar.

In the years past, I had just printed off a 2 page spread for the curriculum planner for my boys, but again students needs are quite different than ours.

They also need a place to doodle and this calendar-like set is so much more flexible.

There is a box at the top of each month too where that they can doodle or they can use that box for writing in priorities for that month, depending on their age.

As your child gets older, priorities become a must as they juggle volunteering, working, learning to drive and doing school.

I love this new set for the girls and you know what that means.

Yep, the Manly Man set is coming next for the guys.

I hope your daughters perk up a bit with their planners and again, if you like it, you know I love ya, so knock yourself out if you find this fits a need you have.

If you are going to use it, share with me how you think you will use it. I would love to hear how you use it too.
