With a little planning and a clear understanding of your student’s needs and goals, you can confidently select a high school science curriculum.

First, identify your teen’s goals. If he is college bound, then he will want to take 3 to 4 years of science. At this point most colleges expect at least 3 years of formal science along with a lab component.
For example, normally a biology, chemistry and physics component are required.
Too, there may be one year or summer where you teen may want to fit in a creative science option like environmental science or marine biology.
If a student is not pursuing a science major, you can have more leeway to be creative.
And the number off credits you determine for high school will be set by your state’s homeschool law. If you have the flexibility then I encourage you to still stay balanced in your choices.
What I mean is to expose your teen to a variety of topics so that all future doors stay open for any science career.
