I wanted to give you my next minibooks on our French Revolution Unit Study. Also, look at my page French Revolution 1789 – 1799 Unit Study & Lapbook.

We have been milking this unit study out a bit because of the reading involved and I have been doing some more packing for our move too.

French Revolution King and Queen 2 - CopyFrench Revolution King and Queen 2

So today, I have  minibooks 6 and 7 ready which are minibooks on Queen Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI.

Because there is an abundance of information about these famous historical characters, I didn’t add any information about them.

This is a pretty easy research project for even your middleschooler.

So now, at this point, we have 7 mini books and I think I can squeeze into a few more.   We need something about Napoleon Bonaparte too. So download the minibooks below.

And now, on to the party!

Finishing Strong – Homeschool Link Up Party

What a great launch week!

A big thank you to all of the bloggers who linked up their fabulous posts, full of ideas and inspiration for homeschooling the older years.

And thank you to all of you who stopped by one of our co-hosts’ blogs to read all of the posts that were shared, as well as for liking, commenting, and sharing.

Your favorite post from last week:

Everyone loved Homeschooling Big Kids from Mary at Homegrown Learners. It is a round up of her four most popular posts focusing on teaching your middle grades student.

Our favorites from last week:

Weren’t last week’s posts great? Make sure you take the time to read them.

Eva from Eva Varga liked Coaching Writing with a Writers Workshop by fellow co-host Heather at Blog She Wrote.

She said, “Heather’s post really resonated with me because as a science teacher, I struggle with teaching writing. I have been looking for something fun and creative to put a spark into our writing curriculum and I know this is it!”

Blog, She Wrote: Coaching Writing with a Writer's Workshop

Another favorite of Eva’s was Biology Comedy Hour by Susan at Susan’s Homeschooling Blog.

Susan’s comedy hour was a very creative way to culminate a project. Eva said, “I love the homemade green screen and have added this to my ‘honey-do’ list. I can see so many applications of this in all subject areas.”

Megan from Education Possible was immediately drawn to Cherry Blossoms in Porcelain Vase Art Project by Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations.

Megan loved how Jolanthe found inspiration on Pinterest, but took it a step further by taking parts of multiple pins to create her own Asian-themed watercolor project. “I can’t wait to use this project to teach my girls some water color techniques,” Megan said.

She also liked Homeschool ‘Mommy Marks’ and Universities by Annie Kate at Tea Time with Annie Kate.

Megan appreciated the advice Annie Kate’s gave to homeschooling families looking to have their “mommy marks” supported by a college or university. She said, “I’m going to have to keep very good records!”

Should You Homeschool?

March 11, 2014 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

I am so excited to tell you that I am a guest panelist today at Bright Ideas Press!  Bright Ideas Press will be hosting a LIVE Google Hangout.  We will be discussing the topic: “Should I Homeschool?”  I would LOVE to have you in the event room as I talk LIVE.  Even if you have been homeschooling for a while, come and share your tidbits of wisdom.

What is a Google Hangout on Air? What do I need?

Basically, it is a live streaming.  You just need to click the link at the bottom and determine your time zone. Then, come to the event page minutes before it starts.  All you need is your device {computer, iPad,etc.} and sign into your google account.

How does it work for guest?

There are no cameras on you.  It’s a bit like a chat room as far as the conversation.   As we are streaming live, you can comment on the event page.  If you post questions to me, the host can try to let me know and I will try to answer them.  To comment on the event page, type the plus {+} sign and then follow it by typing out my Google name which is either “Tina’s Dynamic Homeschool” or “New Bee Homeschooler” and then type your comment.  That way I know the comment is for me.  If you can’t figure that out, which is totally fine, just type my name if you have a comment or question to me.

I would love for you to get comfortable with the format because Kelley and I have some live hangouts planned for you too.

Click below to go to the event page to check your time zone so you know the right time to be at the event.  For some of you this will come early.

Should You Homeschool – Live Hangout Page

Then, wait for the live streaming because they try to start pretty close to on-time.

I hope my hair won’t look too big all Texian like, but then again my hair is naturally big.

See you in the event room, be sure to let me know you are there by giving me a shout out hello!

Hugs and love ya,

Yikes, it’s already March and I have been getting a jump start on the curriculum planner pages.  I always needs lots of color choices too.  So here is the first color option for the 2014 – 2015 Academic Year Round School Planning Schedule.  I normally do about three color choices to match any curriculum cover planner that you choose.   I hope you love color options as much as I do.

Year Round Homeschoool Schedule 2014 to 2015 Collage

Year Round Homeschool Planning Schedule

Since I started this new format last year with the comprehensive key at the bottom, I find I like it better too.  Jotting down my tentative schedule at the bottom of it, helps me to stay motivated. Have you found the new comprehensive key section useful? Download the first color choice here Year Round Homeschool Planning Schedule I’ll have the other color choices ready hopefully this month too. Have you missed any of the forms as I work my way through creating them for this coming year?  I listed them below if you missed any of them.

Did you miss some of my other pages?

Appreciating the life of Great Homeschool Conventions Speaker Dr. Benjamin Carson Through a Human Body Unit Study

March 7, 2014 | Leave a Comment
This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see my full disclosure policy.

Taking time to appreciate the life and achievements of convention speakers only heightens my excitement when I get a chance to hear them speak.  Dr. Benjamin Carson, who will be speaking at the Greenville, SC and Cincinnati, OH Great Homeschool Conventions locations defeated overwhelming odds to pursue his dream of becoming a physician.

This is a sponsored post and I am proud to be partnering with Great Homeschool Conventions this year because I LOVE their convention philosophy.

Being raised by a single mother with only a third grade education, Dr. Carson went on to become a gifted neurosurgeon and the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  One of his career highlights includes the first separation of Siamese twins joined at the back of the head.

I can’t even began to grasp the countless hours of dedication to his field of study and the depth of knowledge Dr. Carson would have to have to study the human body.

The human body is an amazing machine and through our unit studies we have just touch the fringes of understanding all it’s intricacies.  I have rounded up a few links that have helped us to appreciate the creation of the human body.  They can be used for a mini unit study about the human body in preparation for meeting Dr. Carson.

Finishing Strong –  Homeschool Link Up Party – {Homeschooling Middle & High School Students}

I am so glad to have you here for our very first finishing strong homeschool link up party.   Finishing Strong ~ Homeschooling the Middle & High School Years, a brand new link-up is specifically focused on homeschooling during these older years.  We want to encourage families to finish strong as they continue their homeschooling journey.

Homeschooling an older child is different from the younger years and presents its own unique needs. It can be challenging and sometimes lonely, but it’s not impossible, especially with support.

Our hope is that this link-up gives families the ideas and encouragement they need to continue schooling their children at home.
